My Life's Pursuit
(my core inner personal feelings and philosophy)
Raising a family is an awesome responsibility and experience. Raising a family is sometimes a frightening experience. If I am able to lead, teach, and inspire my children, I hope they will learn to love unconditionally, to constantly pursue learning, and to strive to be selfless in serving others. I am fortunate to have the perfect co-teacher / companion. All said, she is actually the teacher. I strive to set up and maintain the structure, the general environment, and the example that represents our family unit, our home. Everything I do and say should support that basic structure. I don't always live up to it, but I am striving to. Following the metaphor, if I am the one providing the structure, then my wife is the one providing the light, color, beautification, music, education, and everything else. Yes, I must be an active role in all of those things to, but I become a supporting role in many ways.
Home is a safe place. In everything we do, home must be a place of refuge, a place that is safe from things outside... No matter what is happening at school, at work, or in the world, our home will be the place to come.
I believe our children have spirits that were created by God. We came to earth to learn, to apply faith, and to prove to ourselves that we can overcome the things of the world and strive to choose the right; to do the right. As we do our very best, we will make mistakes. Jesus Christ atoned for each of us; therefore "bridging" our path to life eternal.
This is what drives me. This is who I am and who I know I can become.
I really like work. I enjoy contributing to a cause, to something that will make a difference. I've always enjoyed training and development, learning and readiness, marketing and sales. My education and employment experience has been and continues to be focused here. I am deeply grateful for so many great and wonderful people who have shaped me.
At the end of the day, there is no feeling on this earth that is greater than my wife, or one of those seven children, to wrap their arms around me and say, "I love you."
So, I continue the pursuit. First as a husband and father; everything else is icing on the cake.
